Teleprompters are for phonies! Well, really?
Maybe they’re also for those who have something to say, something they care about getting just right.
The REAL problem is how using it makes you feel, and then how your “performance” suffers as a result.
Try this, and you should feel and be ten times better than before.

Great not so tiny tip, Steven.
Big thank you, Mackay! 🙂
Great advice. Timely information
Timely is good. Hope it works for you!
Good info. What is your take on using a TP for an outline, just to make sure the concepts are all covered?
Terry
PS: Is your digital background commercially available?
Great question. I see no problem in using the TP that way and have recommended it in the past. Yes, I got that background at 123rf.com. They kind of have everything there; a veritable amazon.com of digital backgrounds. 🙂
Thank you. That was the missing tip for me to stop being like a marionette on video.
That’s a funny image, Marlies. I Hope Stevie doesn’t hear about it!
Cool Steve! Great teleprompter suggestions!
Blessings,
Margherita
Cool. And thanks for dropping by, Margherita!
Awesome advice! I love all the tips and common sense way you bring them all together with the examples you use. Thank you
Glad they work for you, sir!
Thanks for giving free this useful piece of advice
I hope everyone does find it as useful as I THINK they will. 🙂
A great tip Steve. I did not pay attention to my “dancing” while I talk, but I will now. In fact I am going to watch others too and see how that works. Love the authority and authentic tip.
Pretty cool, isn’t it? But you’ll find it’s quite real. I hope people don’t get too sidetracked with the truth vs. lies thing. It’s enough to let yourself BE yourself 🙂
That statement makes me wonder if people who administer polygraph tests ever actually look at the person being tested, or are just focused on the test results. The reason this is on my mind is an attack a year and a half ago resulting in broken bones. The perpetrator has gotten away with it in that he managed to neither pass nor fail the polygraph and gave sufficient explanations to keep from being charged. My guess is whoever administers the outdated polygraph is NOT looking at the testee’s hadviceead and body movements. Anyway, we have to wonder why the police continue to rely on the outdated polygraph at all. But there we are. Sorry to turn this topic into a crime detection story. And really glad to hear this on the teleprompter. I notice newscasters and actors manage it quite well, so it’s good there is a YOU showing is HOW it’s done!
I love the humor you put into your videos! Great advice. Thank you.
A pleasure, though humor is a bit like oxygen. I can only stay down so long before I need to come up for LOL’s.
Great advice, Steve…. and so effectively presented. Your ‘Talking to the person behind the paper’ reminded me of the first lesson I learned about being a radio announcer: you’re not talking to thousands! You think…and keep in mind, that you are only talking to one person ….and the intimacy will come about naturally.
Thanks much, Mel. I’ve always wondered about radio and that kind of intimacy. Good to know!
Thanks so much Steven! Your tips are very timely for me and I look forward to your new training in this area. You are the epitome of natural in front of the camera, coming across as very genuine. What is more amazing is how effectively you are convetying your methods of how to do it too in simple language that I believe I can go and execute. And, your chroma key against that background is exceptional, as you are expert in that as well.
Goodness, I’m e-blushing…
Thanks, Steve!
I guess with my latin style, clementines keep pouring from the sky- haha!
Lovely video- very informative and on the target.
Best,
Susie
I believe yours is called an “unfair advantage”, Susie! 🙂
Thank you for this video learning lots 🙂
Steve, you are a master and constantly surprise me by out doing your own genius.
Thanks for your mentor-ship and guidance.
