From the Creator of The Video Selling Machine, Steven Washer
The one who makes sure he or she talks to everyone.
The one who make sure the hostess has everything she needs all night long.
The reluctant “plus-one” who stands in the corner nursing a Harvey Wallbanger.
The one who corners one person and talks to them all night.
Have you ever made a video for your business?
No. There are too many moving parts for me to get my arms around it.
Yes. I made it myself, but it was terrible, so I hired someone the next time.
Yes. I made it myself and though it wasn’t perfect, I really enjoyed doing it.
No. I wouldn’t want to get it wrong right out of the gate.
How do you feel about marketing yourself?
That’s how business works, so I don’t feel any particular way about it.
I love looking for ways to optimize the marketing numbers in my business.
I see me and my business holistically. Both need to be marketed well; kind of a necessary evil.
I’m often anxious about telling the truth in a way that won’t raise suspicion.
How would you describe your relationship with technology?
I might be the nerd in the family. Everyone seems to come to me with their computer problems.
I use my iphone to make videos once in a while.
The buttons on the microwave are beyond my comprehension. I buy for simplicity.
I’m very good at choosing just the right piece of tech for what I want to do. I keep up with new developments so I ddon't get left behind.
How consistent are you at sticking to a long-term strategy?
Love it. It makes my whole life easier.
Math is my friend. I just do what the numbers tell me, long-term or short term.
I struggle a bit sometimes wondering if I’ve made the right choice.
I have to constantly force myself to do the thing when it’s time to do the thing.
How do you feel about seeing yourself on camera?
I quite ambivilent about it, so I look for the payoff to be reflected in the numbers.
I secretly like almost everything about it.
If I’ve nailed my script, I’ll make myself presentable.
I avoid it, but also put up with it for the sake of my business.
How comfortable are you with writing?
It's not easy. In fact, I don't write so much as re-write.
I write the marketing emails for my company. Does that count?
I can write a company policy, but writing to inspire others is not my forte.
I’ve done so much blog writing by now, I guess I'm OK with it.
I try to find someone better suited to learn it than me.
I immerse myself in the training and try to do it all at once.
I set aside a certain amount of time on a daily basis until I reach my mastery goal.
I have all good intentions, but tend to lose the thread over time.
